The Emporium High Tea

(by 24 hour advance reservation only)
and 24 hour cancellation reqiured as well

Indulge in an elegant, tiered platter of tiny savory sandwiches, a scone with Devonshire cream and locally made preserves, miniature spiced cakes, shortbread cookies, and an assortment of other sweets. Served with your choice of tea or coffee.

Taylors of Harrogate is a family-owned business in the UK with a long history of perfecting blends of tea from around the world. Established in 1886 after Queen Victoria officially instituted "teatime" at Buckingham Palace, the company keeps the traditional art of tea buying and blending alive—each day over 300 teas are tasted and scrutinized by their Tea Buyers in the search for the very best.

You can enjoy any of the following teas in our dining room. These teas are also available to buy in our store, or for purchase and delivery to any location.

Yorkshire Gold – our house tea
A very high quality blend of teas specially selected from the finest tea gardens in India, Africa, and Sri Lanka. This is a bright, brisk tea with a subtle, rich, and refreshing flavour.

Decaffeinated Black
Naturally decaffeinated African, with no compromise on flavour.

Scottish Breakfast
A strong malty flavour with a thick, brightly coloured liquor.

English Breakfast
A brisk, stimulating character and bright copper colour from the finest leaf teas from the highlands of Africa and Sri Lanka.

Irish Breakfast
Robust, strong, and rich with a bright rosy liquor.

Earl Grey
Authentic Earl Grey black tea with natural oil of bergamot. A pale, clear colour and a delicate fragrance.

Green tea
A healthful tea with naturally occuring flavinoids (nutrients found in fruits and vegetables). A pale liquor with a sharp taste.

Pure Ceylon
Grown in Sri-Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon). A rose coloured liquor and intense aroma.

Decaffeinated Spiced Chai
Delicately spicy with cardamom, cloves, and coriander.

Red needle-like leaves grown in South Africa. A light, sweet flavour. Naturally decaffeinated.

Spiced Christmas
A mixture of black teas from China and Indonesia blended with lemon and orange peels, safflower petals, and lemon, orange, and cinnamon oils. A light tea with a warming, spicy, fruity flavour.

Afternoon Darjeeling
Grown in high-altitudes, this tea grows slowly and develops a fine meadowy fragrance.

Pure Assam
Grown in north-eastern India. A rich tea with a strong, malty flavour with a dark red liquor and wondeful aromas.
